As a middle-aged woman that has been married since I was 19 years old, I have always enjoyed writing poetry and jingles that fit any given occassion. So with that gift, I ventured out, wrote a book, and had it published last year. Being an author wasn't planned. Actually, grammar, spelling, and computers are my weakness (ie: I didn't learn about spell check until the last chapter!!). So to say writing a book was a challenge is putting it lightly! But the topic of daughters-in-law and mothers-in-law understanding each other better weighed on my heart. It was important to me.
Once I committed to finishing this book my challenge was no longer what I could not do yet what I could do...to help other women. The daughter-in-law and mother-in-law relationship is unique. How these women hear each other, speak to each other and relate to each other is creating a legacy within our own homes every day. Good or bad. "I Called Her Nan, is about the journey from being a daughter-in-law to becoming a mother-in-law, and communicating more effectively.
