Fabulous Fall

As usual, I feel like I'm behind on many things especially after such a busy September. Trying to think of a topic for my blog has started to frustrate me. As I sat outside this morning, I thought, "Oh, how I love Fall." From the changing of the leaves, less pollen, to the cooler weather, makes it pleasant to be outside. Plus butterflies (especially yellow ones) can be spotted everywhere! I've always enjoyed watching them flutter around. To me, it's like they are flying erratically looking like they can't decide which direction they are going.

With so many things we have to do, it's hard to justify doing the things we want to do. Some may call those wants in life, our dreams. Yet, similar to the butterfly, we flutter around aimlessly until we wear ourselves out doing what others expect of us, without actually landing anywhere. However, when butterflies decide to stop and taste the sweet nectar that was created for them to enjoy, they gain strength to take off again... often in a different direction.

Writing a book wasn't a dream of mine. Surely the topic of daughters-in-law and mothers-in-law would not have been at the top of my list, even if I had planned to write a book.

Although, once I started doing what I wanted to do the rest fell into place. I like to write! Even though I can't spell very well or know the proper grammar to use...I just enjoy writing.

My book, I Called Her Nan, which started off as thoughts and feelings on a page, turned into a story of "I didn't know" moments, which soon grew the desire to help others see the daughter-in-law and mother-in-law relationship differently. With a goal of communicating more effectively, or at least feel what it's like to walk in another woman's shoes.

I've learned that holding back on what we want to do takes energy and time as we try to talk ourselves out of taking the risk! By not doing what we were created to do (no matter how big or small), can possibly keep us from being the best version of ourselves, which others can enjoy too!

The colors of the leaves in the Fall are beautiful! For each season is doing what it was created to do... Enjoy!

Have a Fabulous Fall!
