Over the past few weeks, several places have been covered with a blanket of snow.
Many people think it's wonderful, while others see it as an inconvenience. However, there is no denying the beauty of the snow as it falls from the sky and gently lands on the ground. There's anticipation and wondering if it will stick and how long it will last! However, the only flakes that actually stick are the ones that land where the surface is cold enough to prevent it from melting away. The temperature becomes an important factor. Where the ground is prepared... the fresh snow will stick.
I Called Her Nan, tells about the journey from being a daughter-in-law to becoming a mother-in-law. In comparison to the falling snow, this relationship could be considered wonderful or an inconvenience. The book is designed to prepare the ground of the daughter-in-law and mother-in-law relationship. So they can start off with anticipation and freshness, like the first fallen snow during the change of seasons.
By listening to some of the stories you can salt down the sidewalks with understanding so you do not slip on the ice that forms under the snow of misunderstanding (although sometimes you may need to shovel your way through). In the pages of this small book, you will find handles of hope to support you during a blizzard, and possibly a hand to lift you up if you fall.
Nothing beats coming in from the cold after venturing out into the snow. Maybe it was an inconvenience to scrape a path or perhaps it was wonderful getting to enjoy the beauty. You may have been hit by a few snowballs of unique personalities, and were able to laugh about it later. Either way, you'll see that anticipating the forecast of this new relationship and spending the time to prepare can make a big difference! It's a matter of slipping and sliding or enjoying the fresh snow.
I Called Her Nan, will show that even the yucky old snow left behind, which represents miscommunication will melt away to be replaced with a sunny day... a new understanding of how the temperature of daughters-in-law and mothers-in-law can affect the weather for everyone in the family.
