Change of Seasons~

Change of Seasons is what I titled Chapter 15 in my book, I Called Her Nan. One may think that it's the reason I chose the topic of being a daughter-in-law to becoming a mother-in-law, but it is not.

This chapter comes toward the end of the book and rightfully so. It's through writing and sharing my "I didn't know moments," that it eventually dawned on me that I have been changing all along while writing this book, and I didn't even know. It's through the process of letting go, through words, through understanding, and through forgiving, that I learned to love others unconditionally, even if I've been hurt by actions or words from those around me.

A change of season doesn't only happen as we get older. I learned that each change of seasons is a growth that blows gradually into our lives as we become honest with ourselves and our true feelings. Feelings that may have been unintentionally been pushed down through the busyness of life, yet to be rediscovered at the most unexpected time. Some may see these changes as hormonal due to the tears that are shed while hiking through a difficult season versus trying to go around it.

Each transition of time we journey through is a change of season. It starts off naturally like being a daughter, then we transition ourselves into becoming a wife, while all along the new role of being daughter-in-law can bring on an unexpected chill in the days to come. Before you know it our heart is no longer our own as we enter into the season (much like Spring) of motherhood. As we barely catch our breath, our children become adults, before you know it, the journey onto the unfamiliar path of becoming a mother-in-law begins.

I Called Her Nan, offers you a chance to get one step ahead on your path before the wind blows too hard. It may even allow you to enjoy the growth of the season you are currently in, and possibly see it as beautiful.

With much love,

Cathy
