A book for all women, especially daughters-in-law and mothers-in-law

As women, we are all someone’s daughter. We fall in love, get married, then become a daughter-in-law. We have children, they fall in love and get married, then… we become a mother-in-law. It’s a role that doesn’t usually hold a high priority and at times can be a sensitive subject for various reasons. Throughout history and in many homes, it isn’t thought of as a significant relationship except during times of indifference and miscommunication. Nothing brought these two women together in most cases, except for the son. The common string that ties them together is the love of one person.

Meet the Author

Cathy Lopes lives in a suburb of Atlanta Georgia. Married for 35 years, she has three sons who gifted her with three beautiful daughters-in-law and six grandchildren.

This memoir has been forming in Cathy’s heart and mind since marrying into the Lopes family over thirty years ago. Her story is told through the lens of her Christian faith, but she is confident the principles surrounding healthy communication can be enjoyed by all.

The writing of this book was a labor of love and personal goal in 2019. Now, it has taken on a life of its own. Her hope is to support and encourage mothers-in-laws and daughters-in-law, that their communication might improve and their families reap the reward for that investment.

“A Story about Relationships”

“I read this book in one afternoon, and I must admit that I cried several times throughout the reading. It really struck a chord with me about my own MIL and the relationship we shared for over thirty years.

This is a must read for every new bride and ever woman who desires to be a better MIL.”
